Dunwoody Christian School is Hiring a Spanish Teacher Near Dunwoody, GA

Spanish Instructor K-8 (Part-time)

Job Summary:

Dunwoody Christian School is seeking an energetic, creative, Godly part-time Spanish teacher for our elementary and middle school students. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Spanish to children in grades K-8, as well as a passion for fostering language development in young learners in a Christian environment. The position will involve teaching Spanish language classes, creating lesson plans, and evaluating student progress in alignment with the school's mission and values. Candidates who are qualified to provide Spanish language instruction to 7th and 8th grade students to earn high school language credit are preferred.

We believe that the role of the Christian teacher is to demonstrate through philosophy and lifestyle his or her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a consistent reflection of Godly character, a heart to meet the needs of young people, and a mastery of content and delivery of instruction.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach engaging Spanish language classes to elementary and middle school students
  • Develop lesson plans that incorporate cultural elements, grammar, vocabulary, and oral proficiency while integrating biblical world-view.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, curriculum, and materials to promote language learning and Christian character development.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and areas for improvement
  • Assess and grade student work, including assignments, quizzes, and tests while encouraging students to live out their faith in their studies.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to promote a cohesive and effective Christian educational environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Spanish, Education, or related field.
  • Previous experience preferred teaching Spanish to elementary and/or middle school students
  • Fluent in Spanish and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans that integrate a biblical world-view
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • An enthusiastic and articulate advocate for the school’s mission and vision
  • Intentionally disciple and support students
  • Plan and execute clear, creative, varied lessons
  • Differentiate instruction to reflect knowledge of student progress and engagement
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students while being committed to the DCS mission and values.
  • Professionalism in parent communication
  • Committed to teaching from a Biblical Worldview
  • Passionate about their subject, their students, and their relationship with Jesus Christ

Schedule and Compensation:

  • This is a part-time position, with hours to be determined based on the school schedule. The compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience.
  • This position reports to work at the DCS Administrative Offices, located at 1445 Mt. Vernon Rd., Atlanta, GA 30338.
  • This position is not eligible for employee benefits.
